Omni Intervention Helps Daycare Remain Open
The owner of a Wisconsin daycare came to Omni with a very poor IRS history. The client was trying to stay current and compliant, but the Revenue Officer was levying at an alarming rate. The business was bound to fail if levy action did not stop.
Several times, Omni attempted to discuss the matter with the Revenue Officer and Group Manager, but to no avail. After Omni filed an appeal, they were asked to write a list of all the injustices the client had faced at the hands of the Revenue Officer and Group Manager. When the IRS received the list, they immediately ceased levy action and entered into an installment agreement with the client.
Even though the client was staying in compliance with the installment agreement, she started receiving notices of Intent to Levy from the IRS. When Omni contacted the Revenue Officer, he was unwilling to discuss the file. Finally, Omni contacted the Appeals Officer who had previously worked on the case. The Appeals Officer discovered that the Revenue Officer had been misbehaving. The notices stopped, and the client was able to keep the daycare open.
